Happy Holidays

I can't believe I have not posted in almost 2 mths.....the end of the year gets very busy. The Disney trip was fantastic, just what I needed....did get some good shopping in and ate some great stuff at EPCOT's Food and Wine Fest.
Thanksgiving was huge and busy as always....and now Christmas is in 2 days. It gets harder each year with our family growing and living in lots of places. Somehow we make it through.
Work is just work...a good job, but being at a desk everyday is just hard, but I am grateful and I shall keep going.
For the past 2 weeks I have been helping with the Delta Military Lounge....it's been really neat to serve and meet some of the men, women and famalies that serve our country. I hope we have made a small difference for them
I hope to join RV friends for a New Year's celebration...I'll get a small peak into my hopeful next life.
Just a short post this time....not much to tell when life is basically work and catch up!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all........until 2011!!

Disney Here I Come

My Disney vacation is finally here. 2 months ago I planned a trip with cousin Debbie to do a "girl trip" to Disney....it's finally time. I will fly to JAX today...spend the night with she and Bill and we will drive down tomorrow....a girl road trip...nothing like it!!! Because I do not have paid vacation time anymore I take very few days off...so vacations are few and short....but I'll take what I can get!!
I think I shall bring a boat back from FL....it has been raining here forever. It will stop 1-2 days and start again....we needed it...but not all at once..geez!!! And along with rain comes storms....wind, lightning and living in the woods does not always work. While Mom and Shea were cruising Mexico last week I was working and holding down the fort....which is normally no big deal. However.....after one storm....I had no phone, no DSL, no TV no microwave, and a messed up alarm. Sheesh....I couldn't fix things fast enough!! It was a busy week...but I finally got the phone and DSL back after 4 days....and got Direct TV sched to come out after they returned. Surely hope that was our one biggy for this year. Mom is still working on replacements for the microwave and one TV that were zapped...what a mess.
I now have a new manager and director and things are looking a bit better for some possible work at home opportunities. I can only hope...coming into this office everyday is getting really old.....especially when I know this job can be done from home.
Ignite is coming along....we have opened up a third state, Pennsylvania....so here we go!!

Holidays are coming and we are talking about Thanksgiving plans....it will be another big gathering at Mom's. Lots of cooking...then some good shopping!! Perhaps I will get in some pre-shopping at Disney....maybe there will be some sales.
It has cooled off a bit in FL so it should be a wonderful weekend. Until next time....
Hope you have a Magical Weekend!!!

Fall Foliage in Helen, GA was Gorgeous

This past weekend was spent at Unicoi Springs with Jean and Henry Rourke....what a blast. I left work a little early and was there by about 4p, just in time for happy hour!! They are members here but do not own their own rig, so they rent travel trailors that are left on the sites all year, or a "park model", which is a small cabin. we were in a 30' travel trailor right by the lake...I was in heaven. I could catch a glimpse of my "next life". It has been very dry so there were no campfires allowed, bummer, but it was still wonderful. We grilled out both nights, hiked to Anna Ruby Falls and braved the traffic in Helen to do a little shopping. The fudge was as wonderful as I remember. The Grist Mill store was really neat.....and I did some Christmas shopping at The Tomato Shop. The weather could not have been better, and it was a fantastic get away for me, not something I do very often. Thank you so much to the Rourk's for having me.
Between work and building a business I stay pretty busy. Not much time for social, but that will come. Although, building this business is rather social....it is a business and must be treated as such. 10 days ago Ignite expanded into Pennsylvania offering electricity and we can now off natural gas to commercial customers in Ga. We are growing like crazy....come on in folks the water is great. Our websites changed....check it out, the video at the beginning is awesome. I believe in this so much, I have my Mother in now....I can build it for both of us, so check out her site.... www.BarbaraFields.igniteinc.biz
Anybody know folks in PA??? Send them my way, I can save them money and show them a way to make money.
Well....cube world is still paying the bills and I hit 49 about 2 weeks ago so I have 3yrs, less 2 weeks, to go and counting!!!  I wish I could retire at 52...but reality says probably not, but we all need goals. I have a new mgr and a new director so we'll see where the changes take us....maybe there will be some work from home possibilities coming my way...yahoo!!
This weekend is Halloween, have no big plans but that could change!!!
I needed a little brain break, but must get back to it......hope it's a fast week!!!

Cooler Days are Here......

It has finally started to cool down...fall is in the air. It rained lots Sun and Mon this week and after that the temps dropped. I think it will soon be that precious time of year when you do not need A/C or heat....great sleeping and outside weather. One day I shall chase these temps all over the country!! Had 2 doc appts this week all is well, good to go for 6 mths.
Work has been steady, my new cube address is still very nice I can handle it. The folks are nice, I just wish to be in another world...but still have my 3yr plan in my head. In fact, today I looked ahead and my 52nd birthday falls on a Saturday....I think I shall spend that one with my family and ease out of town the next day in my house on wheels....will be a wonderful weekend! I have much to do before then, but I will tackle things one at a time and I'll get it all done.....I like goals....I have my sights set on 52!!
Ignite is really getting fired up....on Oct 16 they will announce the next state we will expand to...then it will be another new state every 4mths for the next 18mths....big possibilities here. This takes work, but it's worth it...anthing worth having is worth working for!!
We hosted a birthday party for a friend at Mom's house 2 weekends ago...was really nice, I think he was very surprised and grateful. Theron is a great guy and we really enjoyed it. I have a trip planned in Oct to go to Unicoi Springs with some friends...very anxious to do this. This is a place I may buy into one day. You can "own" time here and then join Coast to Coast and have great benefits in campgrounds across the US. I am anxious to visit. Then in Nov I have a weekend trip planned with cousin Debbie to go to Disney....so I have a few things to look forward to. For now...it's back to work....keep grinding and stay focused.

I can see those Snow Capped Rocky Mountains now....smell breakfast cooking and know that the rest of the day I will spend outside doing something!!!
One day..............

Corporate Kingdom

Alas..it has been a month since I last wrote...time flies when about 11hrs of your day is taken up in Corporate World....from getting up, to getting ready, to the commute, then putting in your time and driving back home. Makes for some long days....but I am still very grateful to have a job...in this economy, I say a prayer everyday. Does not mean I have stopped dreaming about my RV life to come....it WILL happen one day.
Last week my cube address changed making this world MUCH better for me. I am now on a cul-de-sac!! I am the last cube on the aisle so no more Mr. Conference Call Pro...yahoo!!! It was amazing to me how much better this made me feel at the end of everyday. I have a small amount of privacy which makes a HUGE difference. I said a little prayer for this.....God knew I was going nuts. This has however somehow put out a "welcome" sign for one of my co-workers. Almost every morning, even before my purse is put away and my PC is turned on, he is standing in my little space. He will sometimes be in my cube for an hour.....drives my nuts, but I am the new kid so I say nothing.....but it does make me wonder how he gets his work done. But, that is not my concern...I'm here to do my own thing and move on one day.
There have been many folks to move into this area lately so the boss finally came out with a note that said "no more conf calls on speaker, you must use your headset"....WOOHOO...I almost did a dance.....so alas it has gotten a bit quieter. However the "over the wall" chatter is still alive and well....so I can't say you could here a pin drop..but I'll take the improvement!!
As I mentioned before there are many players in this play and I have identified most of them. The Meeting Maniacs go to, talk about , and literally brag about all the meetings they attend all day.....wow, what a goal in life, I believe these folks are closely related to the Ladder Climbers. These folks still have huge goals for a Corporate Career....God Bless them....there is another world out here, perhaps they will discover it one day before it is too late. Then there is The Suck-Up...no explanation needed here......they are seen with the boss all the time......good luck to them. The Late Worker and The Weekend Warrior are also very close.....they all seem to be using a little different method to impress and move up the Corporate Ladder.....I will certainly NOT be getting in their way. In fact, I was rather happy in my world until someone thought I needed to be on the group distribution list...oh my, the flood gates opened in my inbox. These guys can find more things to email about than one can imagine......it rather amuses me most days. Thank goodness for the handy dandy delete key!!! Oh yes, I look forward to the day that Corporate World is in my rearview mirror.
Tomorrow I will be attending an Ignite meeting to discuss new methods for working your business and about expansion...we will be expanding to 5 new states in the next 18mths...wow, the possibilities. I CAN and WILL make this work....it is a very doable business and can create a nice residual income to sustain my RV life. I stay focused on my 3yr plan......52 is going to be the best birthday EVER!!! Until then, head down and full steam ahead, I have work to do!!! I spoke with a woman just this week that is saving her house from foreclosure by selling cornbread. If she can do that....I can make Ignite work. She was amazing, I had to order some just to help her out, I don't really like cornbread....but that's ok. http://www.cornbreadmillionaire.com/

Sometime in the next 2mths I plan to rent an RV for a long weekend and perhaps go into Tennessee for a few nites....I just need to keep my fingers in my next life so I am clear on where I am headed!! But for today....it is a slow Friday and I will be glad for some rest this weekend as I have had a bit of a cold all week. I hope this is not the beginning of a long winter since I am now exposed to LOTS of stuff....one can only hope I will build up a fast resistance!!
Have a wonderful weekend, I promise to post more often.

4 lobsters and 2lbs of clams for $25 !!!!!!

Yes..it's true, that's what I paid at the docks in a small town in Maine. I took a much needed get-away to visit a friend in Maine this past weekend...it was wonderful. The weather was cool and crisp and some trees are already changing color....it was a welcomed break from the 90+ in Georgia. We went to Brunswick, home of LL Bean and many other wonderful outlets. Yep, did some shopping. We ate some fantastic seafood in many different restaurants. The Muddy Rudder, The Seadog and in Portland on the docks we ate at the floating De Millos...all excellent. But...one of our best meals was buying it fresh off the boats at the docks and cooking it at home....yummmmm!! I met my friend Linda at the RV-Dreams rally in April. She has a Dutch Star but she also has a home in Maine and she graciously invited me to visit .....it has awesome. The north east states are beautiful and the little towns are rather magical....but only for about 5 months of the year, then they are too cold for me. But those5-6mths are great. When I have an RV I will for sure visit this area...perhaps I will workkamp at Arcadia National Park...a terrific place to see. we visited an area called Mere Point. It is a privately owned peninsula with very nice summer cottages and awesome views of the coast. A glass of wine and a nice walk was exactly what I needed. It was a quick trip but a welcomed break. Thanks Linda....I'll be back!!!

Corp World is still cooking, but I've made progress.....I now have the hook-ups to work from home some. I think I shall do Tue and Thurs from home but we'll see. Something will be better than nothing!! At least that will give my ears a break from The Conference Call King!! Working hard on my Ignite business....I need to break out of here one day!!! But for now, this is a great job that will allow me to move closer to my RV Dream!!

HELP....I'm back in CUBE WORLD!!!!

So sorry it's been a while since I've written....has taken much out of me adjusting to Corporate America again. It's been about 14yrs since I've gone into an office everyday. I've had to tweek my time management skills....didn't realize how spoiled I was to working from home. Delta does not believe much in working from home....so my new address is 2nd floor Admin Bldg, Delta HDQ, Cube 2CW080....just in case you want to come visit. I have cheerios and crackers in a drawer so I can serve snacks!!
I'm all settled in now and have my 3yr plan in front of me. You see....3yrs from this October I shall turn the magic 52 and can start my pensions....not that I can live solely off of them, but they will help. I hope to hang in this Corp Cube World until then and I've challenged myself to have Ignite rolling by then. So...as long as I stay focused I think I'm up to the challenge. As if to keep me reminded....just as I was pulling out of the gates at Delta HDQ one day last week....a gorgeous Class A RV pulling a jeep cruised past me.....YEP, there went my dream, I'll get there one day. My exercising is suffering, I used to do this during lunch time at home, but not anymore. I didn't have to worry about taking a shower before returning to my desk....however, now I think that would be a must for the sake of those around me and there is not time or a facility...so, I still need to work that back into the evening schedule. Before work is not an option for me....up at 620a is early enough. And, as you can see from my lack of communication here, some things have gone undone. Yes...this will be a challenge for lots of reasons, but I stay focused on the future and keep going. You see, as with most things, attitude is key...so I check mine daily.

Corporate America is not as interesting as all the new friends I met everyday as I peddled pictures, or my college roommates, but if you look hard you can find some entertainment. Unlike other times that I've been in corporate world, I am here to make money NOT a career. So...I can look at things differently. It's fun to watch others try to climb the "corporate ladder".....only ladder I wish to climb these days is the one on the back of my RV that I will have one day!!! I think of this as a play and my part is very small. I have named the other parts that my cast members have:

1. The Meeting Maniac

2. The Conference Call Pro

3. The Late worker

4. The Suck Up

5. Weekend Warrior

6. Money Makers (that's me)

7. Ladder Climbers

That about sums it up, they can all fit into one of these parts. I will give you futher explanation on these at another time....I think it's time for me to go earn my keep.
Have a great weekend.....I have grown to love Fridays again....so TGIF!!!

Good-bye Athens.....hello Delta

As I watched Athens disappear in my rearview mirror I had mixed feelings. It had been a whirlwind 6 week experience. I learned so much, met some great people, had some hilarious experiences and according to my "party-girl" turning grown-up woman roommate I "had been her favorite roommate ever"....wow, a status I had not expected to achieve. It was raining and I had a 90min ride ahead of me...much time to think. I was most grateful for the Ignite folks I'd met that were so wonderful and kind. I think now my real purpose for ever going to Athens was to meet these folks and to have this opportunity and to have met my party-girl. She and I learned much from each other.....I will stay in touch with her....she has many good things ahead of her.
Yes...Delta called and I shall go back to corporate world for a while. In this economy, it is very hard to turn down a good paying job. Picture peddling was fun but not so lucrative. I think in a different area it can be a nice addition to a monthly income....but I need to buy the rig and get to that magic 52 yrs young to draw pensions and then add a little extra from selling pics. Hopefully Ignite will also be adding to my monthly income and I can peddle pics for fun and a few extra $$$....we'll see what the future brings. So....in 3 fast and furious days I unpacked, worked on Iginte and got a car ready to drive back to FL. I will now take a few days for me before re-entering the corp world. It will be a change for me as Delta is not so liberal with their "work from home" rules. So.....scoot over Mom and Shea....guess who's not only coming for dinner, but coming to move in??? I do thank you guys very much for helping me with this...it would be much harder if you guys did not open up your home to me.
So folks....I fear that corp world will not be as entertaining as my adventures in sales....but I will keep you all posted on my happenings.
On second thought....some folks in offices are quite entertaining!!! And as a contractor, you do see things differently.....so maybe there will be some great things to report on.
For now....I shall enjoy the beach a few days...may be a while before I see that again.

Stay tuned.............

You know you are in the country when...........

1. you are being paid in potatos, plums and green tomatos
2. when you ring someone's doorbell and the siding on the house moves
3. the lock on the front door is a combination lock like on a car
4. there are more pictures on someones walls of their prized cows and dogs than of their kids
5. you are told they have only had indoor plumbing for 10 yrs

Yep.....I have seen some amazing things and heard some unreal stories. I've met some really nice folks and experienced some rude people as well....I guess you can't completly escape the nasty ones no matter where you may go. Yesterday I finally got to have a BBQ sandwich at this local dive...Hot Thomas. I've been hearing about this place for a week....but everytime I'm by there it's closed. Finally....it was open on Saturday. It was good and the sweet tea was a nice change from my normal water. The company was the best. The older couple that owns and runs it were very entertaining. He said they only open 3 days a week and they close at 6p.....no wonder I could never catch them open!!! They have many acres of land and they are all farmed....they have been here 60+ yrs.....in fact he told where to find some of the houses I still needed to go to. I was the only person there eating, some came to get to-go orders, so I knew I would also get entertained....and I was not disappointed. Yep...if you ever get up to Watkinsville, you gotta make it to Hot Thomas for some BBQ.
I'm off to peddle a few more pics...it's been a good weekend....I even sold a 20x30 canvas...wow.
Looks like I'll avoid rain one more day that would be great.

Annie Oakley and the Rattlesnake

Hi...did you see the rattlesnake I just killed??? This is what the nice woman said as she opened the door to her log cabin....No I didn't ....I replied. Well... you'll have to look closer when you drive out of my gate, I left it laying outside the gate for a buzzard or something to eat.
And that was my intro to a woman I will call Annie Oakley. She was young and very full of energy and not afraid of anything so it appeared. She was sitting on 95 acres with horses, barns and a cool log cabin. She'd had the cabin moved there from Tennessee. It had a wide wrap around porch and just off the porch is where the snake was. In fact, right where I had just come up onto the porch.....wow. There were several chairs on the porch and lots of art work. She made art out of junk as she told me. There was some cool stuff. The iron headboard that had crystal punch cups dangling from it. The owl made out of wire. The stained glass/iron abstract piece....and......4 very old small pull-along campers in the yard. Well...she was very nice and we chatted a bit and I had to ask about those campers....it seems they were art projects as well. She calls them vintage campers....see this one on Craigslist...

http://athensga.craigslist.org/rvs/1778589831.html

She buys them as junkers and refurbs them.....now I've seen it all. What an imagination she has and some awesome talent. One even had hardwood floors. She had named one "Lucy". You know I had to ask why....well, it reminded her of an, I Love Lucy show when Lucy and Ricky went camping, unreal. It was a true labor of love. She did buy her picture and as I left I did stop to see the snake....however a rather large Hawk was already having lunch so it had been moved, but he did fly off when I drove up so I got a look.....could have never dreamed up this day.

The people I meet are the absolute best part of this job......I am entertained everyday.

Beach Money.....Never judge a book by its cover!!

After returning to Athens from a short trip to ATL my red-headed roommate had hit the bottle and was now a brunette.....wow....what a difference. She said it was her natural color and it was time to get back to who she really is. She had already shared with me that just before I arrived last month she had let her lip piercing grow closed...so just maybe at almost 23 the party girl is calming down. She had even taken out her garbage while I was gone....amazing. Perhaps this book is about to change her cover....would be a wonderful thing. My party central apt has actually been very quiet lately. My red-head, now brunette roomie is now dating an ex-boyfriend again, he is 30 and seems to be a nice guy. In what little time we have chatted he has admitted to the wild times he used to have but says he's past that and ready to make something of his life. He's a master plumber now and looking for a job. I think he may have a wonderful influence over my party girl. He seems to be really crazy about her...so we'll see.
The lease on the apt ends July 31st...and all but one girl will move on....2 will move to the working world since they graduated last month and one is renting a house with some other kids....one will renew and stay for another year and last weekend her parents brought up a couch. Very nice folks, but rather odd for me to meet a roomies parents that were likely my age.....yes, this whole experience is one for the books. Perhaps I judged my red-head too quickly, I see changes coming.
Speaking of books...my upline in Ignite gave me a book to read...Beach Money....a quick read and a very inspiring book. I'm so excited about my Ignite business....this has such potential....everyone uses energy, I just have to get past the doubters, move to the real believers and those that can see the potential and roll on. As stated in my meeting last night, this can compress a 25-30yr career into 3-5yrs.....I can like that. In 3 1/2 yrs I can draw my pension from my 25yr career....so it is my goal to also have an income from Ignite by then, and if I find the right folks for my team we will all be making more than that 25yr pension will provide!! I have faith and have met some wonderfully positive folks in Athens that are willing to help anyone at anytime. It's so neat to be involved with folks that are fired up and so positive. Last night I took a long time hispanic family friend to the Ignite meeting at headquarters. I know he and his family could work this together and it would be a great help to them. As he stated on our ride home....."if I plant an apple tree this year, it will not have fruit for at least a year"......then I knew he had gotten it.....this will not happen overnite, but it can and will happen given the time and effort that anyone of us would/have/will put into a traditional corporate job.
If you want to join me on this adventure..... www.nathieknell.igniteinc.biz

Meanwhile, aerial photo sales are going ok but not great. Memorial weekend killed me....between the rain and folks vacationing it's been tough. In fact, there is talk that I will be moving on in 2 weeks....I have an option to go to VA.....anybody want to go a little north for the summer????

I Have to ask you to leave!!!!

That is what the undercover cop said to me on Monday as I was peddling pictures in a neighborhood. It had been a bad "no sale" day and this was the last straw. So as I was kicked out of the last neighborhood I was going to be in for the day....I decided to head back to Atlanta...I was craving clean and quiet.
You see, last Saturday nite the party was here again....lucky me. As I laid in my bed wishing for sleep I certainly did learn some things....wow, nothing is sacred in college kid world. I can assure you these kids parents would be shocked. However, I did have to wonder how much of this big talk was bragging or "one upping"...but it was surely eye-opening for me!! I finally passed-out about 1a....thankfully. I heard it got exciting about 3a with a girlfriend/boyfriend fight but thankfully I slept through that. If that had woken me up.....I'm very afraid they might have seen a side of me that's not so pretty!!!!
It was great to be home a few nights and I made the decision, after much research, to join Ignite.
http://www.nathieknell.igniteinc.biz/
Please go to my website....look around, learn somethings and consider joining my team. If being a team member is not for you right now....then if you have a natural gas bill, I'd appreciate you becoming my Stream Gas customer. We have .79/therm right now and you can lock that in for a year which will get you thru the winter...a very good rate. Any questions....feel free to email or call....I thank you in advance for your support in my new business venture.

My picture peddling is really going well...but since Athens is a tough market it goes a bit slower. I did at least sell over $3k worth last week so I think that paycheck will be fairly good. Coming into a holiday weekend we'll see how it goes....this is my first holiday weekend hope it goes well.

Me and the kids are doing ok....it's about to be down to me and only one for a bit and she starts summer school next week so I'm hopeful the parties will end or at least slow. In fact last nite she said last weekends party was not all that fun to her so she may be done. She is almost 23 and at that age where the partying is about over.....one of those "crossover" times of life. I'd be happy to help her crossover so I can have quiet nites!!

Hope you all have a fun Memorial Day weekend, I 'll be out here selling....I hope!!!

Hanging Out one Nite...Ear Plugs the Next Nite

What a week #2!! Sales got better and I got into a groove as well. Got back into exercising which felt really good and probaby helped the over all attitude. Thurs nite I went to another Ignite meeting, I really feel like this is something that can work. It will take effort, like anything, but one cannot deny that it is pretty cool that everytime someone pays their gas bill, if they are with Source Energy, you get a piece of that pie!!! I have a meeting this morning to discuss this further.
On Fri the rain came and I had to knock off early....so there I was, a hot Fri nite in Athens at my little apt. I was whopped and didn't know exactly how "busy" my apt would be. However, when I got home my roomies were doing laundry and watching a movie.....cool. So, we ordered from the Athens famous Choo-Choo's, I now know about the "yellow sauce", listened to it rain and watched chick flicks....not a bad nite. HOWEVER....Saturday nite we were back to being kids. OK...I know I sorta signed up for this, BUT!!!!! Seems several of them went to a friends wedding....but the "after wedding party" was here...oh goody!! Yep...I finally passed-out about 1am....it was a long nite. But I sure did learn a lot from all their loud talking. NOTHING is sacred to these kids....is it the truth or are we bragging or trying to impress, who knows.....but made for some interesting listening. But I would have traded that for sleep....thankfully I could sleep late on Sun.
I did rise about 10a and stepped over the bodies left in the living room to get to the front door so I could go for a morning swim. I knew the pool would be empty....waaaaaay too early for college kids. Got back about 1130 and the bodies had moved upstairs...so I decided they needed to hear MY music....Good Morning Lynard Skynard.....had that blaring about an hour then I left. However, not long after I was "jamin'" I heard noises from above....oh darn.....did I wake you up???!!!! Sorry.......NOT!!! This old lady can soooooo play your game!!! I thought 1130 was nice, wait till next time!!!

Roomie Rules as Promised.....

This morning as I stood in the kitchen eating cheerios I saw the rules again and decided it was time to entertain you.....I quote.......

1. Please keep doors locked (loved this one...great idea)
2. Don't eat anything that isn't yours unless set aside in the comunal area (I had to ask what was comunal area...that meant if you over cooked and left stuff on stove top up for grabs...if u dare)
3. Lets' keep counters clear/clean and the sink empty....if you have to leave dishes in the sink, rinse them. (this rule is clearly ignored...but it sounds great)
4. Sunday-Thurs lets' keep it down past 11p (great idea, but there were keg parties on Mon & Tues nites last week so what happened...oh yeah, school is out, so any nite is okey dokey, lucky me, I got here just in time for "open party" season)
5. For privacy purposes, room mates and guests of room mates need to use their OWN bathroom (love this rule since my bath is the only one on ground floor, but I keep it locked, otherwise I may as well live at Wal-Mart...wait, I might like it better...I'll see if they allow overnighting.....they do in an RV....oh when can that ever happen?)
6. After late nights downtown, please make sure the guests you bring back are of a certain caliber..aka no sketchy guys!! (dang...guess the old farmer I met can't come visit!!!)
7. Please keep cigarettes/clove smoking an outdoor activity. (whew....this one had me worried, glad I won't be hearing the smoke alarm, and meeting the local cops!!)
8. Feel free to call a house meeting if you have housemate problems. (woohoo...let's discuss the refrigerator....isn't science classs over?)
9. If you plan on having a lot of people over try to let everyone know before hand! (you see it folks.....so when you all plan to visit, gotta give me warning, I'm very sure each of you wants to see this place!!!!)

Now you have it......the rules I must abide by if I intend to live here 2.5 more mths. Yes, this shall be an adventure I'll not soon forget.
And perhaps some of you with kids in college or going to college will find these rules helpful. You can see that your kids will have rules at school as well....I'm sure this puts your mind at ease!!!! Especially the "skecthy guy" and "smoking" rule....I'm sure you all had similar rules to home, so you can know they will stay intact even when they move to college!!! I know my parents had rules like these....right Mom????

Not a bad first week.....

My work week is Mon-Sun....however, I didn't start until Tues and I took Sunday off....so, for my 5 days....I sold just over $2k...not a bad first week in a rough area for sales. I was about to run out of frames since Fri was a great day and the office told me they had 3 RV folks up here selling also. A couple and a single guy. I contacted the couple and went to their RV and got 4 more frames.....it was cool to see where I'm hopefully heading, they had a great rig and have been full-timing for 10yrs......I'll get there one day. Was nice to chat a bit...then I was off on the selling trail. Sold 4 that day...not too bad. Was good to get back to my little "haven" and crash, I was whopped.
Sunday was my day to finally explore.....I think I finally have Loop 10 figured out...shall make life better for me I think. I'm really tired of going the wrong way and out of my way.
Downtown Athens has lots of places to eat and drink, not so many shops...but it's quaint. The little town of Watkinsville is not open on Sunday's so I shall have to check it out another day.

I found a pool I can use and a work-out room.....so this week, I shall get back at it, I've been off track now for about 2 weeks. I'm slowly getting in a routine....

My "roomies" have been quiet, for that I am thankful. They are good kids.....but they are kids.

This week is off to a good start....4 sells today, and tomorrow I shall finish my 1st roll. By Wed I will start working some new turf....hopefully with better sells.........I think all rommies are out for the nite.....yahoo, shall be another quiet nites sleep.

A 600 Acre Horse and Tree Farm!!!

Wow ...what a week....and I've only been selling for 4 days....already sold over $1500 and I'm about to hopefully have a killer Saturday. I'm almost out of frames and the office could not get me any until Tues, so I'm about to go meet some real RV'ers that are up here doing the same thing and they will loan me some frames until mine come.....I wish I was in that RV park with them......one day.
This has been amazing....I've met the older widows that just "can't imagine how I got this picture"....but they buy it cause they and their late husbands have had that land for 60yrs....all the way to the 600 acre farm that had a 40-stall horse barn on it, and in the photo I had I thought it was a house..... then I learned different. The owner was there and gave me a grand tour.....if you met this guy in Publix you'd think he was just another guy....his favorite little quotes were..."you betcha"....and "yeah buddy"......he said I could come back anytime I wanted.....so "you betcha" I'll be going back and having my lunch by his 32 acre lake some time. Check it out.... you'll see why I thought I was looking for a house. He said they will likely put our picture on their website. www.hollinfarm.com
And here's a kicker.....my best friend's husband does their website....what a small world.
This is a family compund with siblings and spouses all living on it. One of them has a tree farm and we got a great shot of that as well....it was really an amazing fun day. The tree farm owner approached me with a business venture and I ended up going to a meeting with him that nite....what else did I have to do....come home to a keg party!!! Here's his site....gorgeous place...they need our pic too www.angelcreeknursery.com , and maybe I can get them to move to their business to Pat.
I'm still checking out the business venture but it's basically this....with the deregulation of gas in Ga and TX...and company called Source Energy decided to use it's customers for advertising instead of paying for it....about 30% of your bill goes to advertising. So....you switch your gas to them and get others to do so and you make money on every gas bill paid...how cool is that.
Here's a site to check that out if you are interested. www.southpointeenergy.igniteinc.biz
And I've only been here 6 days.....what ever shall happen by the end of July.

Time to go peddle pictures.........I shall take Sunday off.....even God rested then...so shall I.
But I was told about a place I can go pick my own strawberries...so I may happily go do that.

The Power of Cotton Balls

When I first arrived I thought the first floor room was great....I have since realized, this is the level where all the parties happen....and there is some cool college rule that they can't start until 10p....ahhhhhh! Right outside my window is the back patio and the keg and the kids......after being startled awake several times on Mon nite.....I was oh so grateful when I remembered last nite that I had some cotton balls....yahoo I could sleep. I think tonite may actually be my first nite w/o a party...wow! The kids try to keep it down....but noise just happens.....and I did sort of sign up for this....so......
My sales job is going well...in 2 days I've made 4 sales.....I think/hope that will pick up, I am still new....this area cannot handle our pricing, so we are discounting the photos, which hurts my commission, but beats no sale at all. The cool part is seeing things I'd never see and meeting neat folks. An elderly widow bought a picture today and she was so excited....it was cute.
I accidentally found a park today....it was very nice and had a great Veteran's Memorial Wall, pretty cool.
Tonite upon returning home I could not take the "science project" frig anymore....so I tackled it and the freezer and I just heard the first ice cubes drop.....yahoo what a great sound.
While doing this cleaning, I read the Room Mate Rules that are posted on the frig...another time I will entertain you with that.....
Time to clock out...it's 11p and no party yet, so I may actually get a party-less nite!

End of my First Day.....whew!!

Well....thanks to GPS I arrived at the doorstep of my new address on time. It's a very old townhouse, reminded me of times from yesteryear. The gal I'm renting from was here to meet me...very nice....showed me around, didn't take long!! I have the one bedroom and bath on the main floor. All others are upstairs....hope they are quiet...this old lady needs to sleep. As I unloaded, my room-mates came in and out....all nice gals....but very different. One will only be here on weekends.....one will be here all summer....the other one is doing May-mester and then will likely be gone mostly....so maybe not too bad....EXCEPT......the one that's here is the party-girl. Said I just missed the Cinco de Mayo party...it went on till 4am.....holy crap!!! What have I done??? There's enough booze here to float a battleship....and the weeekend keg is still on the back patio, I could help myself......very hospitable. The refrigerator is almost a science project. The freezer has an ice-maker but since the bucket was taking up needed space...out it came and in moved pizza's and corn-dogs....and a bag of ice, because you gotta have ice....and I'm sure that bag takes up less space than the actual ice bucket....ah the ingenuity of youth.
As I was getting ready to leave one gal and her boyfriend were about to cook dinner and said they were making the frig their project for the nite.......wonderful.....so maybe my stuff would fit in when I returned from Wal-Mart. I'm guessing something else struck their fancy....cause I saw no improvement in the frig and their dirty dishes were in the sink......the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes.....but was not running....what gives?? So I started it....unloaded it and then put their dirty stuff in.....now....just maybe I can have a bowl of cereal in the morning..........this is going to be a hoot..........gonna have to really go with the flow!!!!
Had a nice chat with party-girl and her guy friend.....they agreed to do the summer party's on Sat nites so I could plan to be gone after selling all day.......very nice of them. They told me about good cheap places to eat and cool things to go see. We are just down the street from The Botanical Gardens....I shall visit before I leave.
Things have quieted a bit so I shall get some shut-eye......my sales job starts tomorrow....I need to be rested..........night-night from UGA town.

Going back to college!!!

OK folks....many of you have ask for this...so here it is.....my blog from the beginning of my adventures....
Today I shall roll into Athens, GA (in my fairly new little Hyundai Tucson...had to sell one Durango...bad gas mileage and I can't tow it)...home of UGA...to live for 3 mths. And yes....I will be living in a 4br apt with 3 college room-mates...oh my!!! I will be working for www.airphoto.com selling aerial photos door-to-door!! My Daddy used to tell me I could sell ice water to Eskimos...I'm hoping he was right!! I will be selling aerial photos of folks homes....hope I can make this happen. When my IT job ended on March 12 I decided that I was done with the IT world for a bit unless Travelport called me back. So, since one day I hope to RV around the country I need a job I can do all over...so I found this on www.workamper.com
and.....the rest is history. After much hard work I'm about to hit the road on my first...sort of RV adventure....without an RV. Maybe one day soon I'll get a rig and this will be mush easier.

So...travel along with me as my adventure begins!!!!
