A quick trip to Atlanta ....and busy as always!!!

I made a quick trip to ATL to do many things. The first thing I got to do was one of my favorite summer things to do in ATL....go to the Farmer's Market. I have very fond memories of going to the market with my Dad when I was a little girl.... we'd buy all kinds of fruit and boiled peanuts and veggies for Mom to cook. Then at Christmas time we'd all go as a family to buy our Christmas tree and other holiday items....these are great memories. So, I jumped at the chance to be able to go wander around and buy some good fruit and veggies. I wandered around for about an hour and I bought some corn and okra for dinner and lots of fruit for the weekend. YUMMM-OOOOO!!!

I swung by Publix, got some steaks and went home to work on dinner. Mom and Shea were busy with errands so I was going to cook. It turned out pretty good...roasted corn on the grill with some onions and the steaks....and okra cooked in the oven....was a nice evening with just the girls.

Saturday morning we were up and out...headed to Brooke and Dave's house to visit with them and the kids. I try to see as many folks as I can whenever I'm in town....just look at how much they are growing....the more the girls grow the harder it is to tell them apart.....oh my!!!

Brad and Cindy also came over so we got to see all the kids, big and little!!!
Then we headed off to a camping group reunion. When I was a kid our family did a lot of camping with a group from a YMCA....this group was supposed to be getting together...but it was a small turn out. It was good to see the ones that were there.

Ray Majors and Billy Byers....

Sandy Byers and Shea with Kent Byers

Shea chatting with Bill Lamert and his son

It was a nice get together, Mom, Shea and I stayed about 1.5hrs...then we raced off to Walton High School. Asley's marching band has been invited to march in the Rose Bowl Parade in Jan 2015....the President of The Rose Bowl Parade was in town to present them with the Rose Bowl Flag and we wanted to see that....

Kelley and Larry are on the marching band parent board and had been very involved in entertaining Mr & Mrs Rose Bowl for 3 days....so Mom got to meet them when we arrived....nice folks...not something you get to do everyday.

The presentation of the flag.....too cool...it's official now!!!

The band did a few formations and played some...but didn't do their entire show....
Ash was being very still...was ready to march...

After the show she was one happy kiddo.....

It had been a busy Saturday but really good...time to go home and fall into bed!!

Sunday was church then lunch with buds Kathy and Karen. Then  back to Mom's to entertain friends Lynn and Mickey for dinner. It was a nice evening and my sister Debbie came over to eat and visit. Time for bed...had to get up and roll on Monday. Had a dentist appt then a flight back home. It had been one busy but really fun weekend. I hadn't been "home" in about 6 weeks...was past time to see my Momma!!!
Thanks Mom it was a blast....I'll see ya next time...
