Happy Birthday to me..........

September had been a long month since we spent most of it recovering from a flood in our house. The mess was not all gone when Mom arrived to celebrate my birthday in October...but she was a trooper, even though the house was a wreck!!

First of all I received 2 dozen roses from my sweet hubby to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday which are only 2 days apart...they were gorgeous and lasted a long time.

We went out for a wonderful steak dinner for our anniversary. The next day Mom arrived and the next day was my birthday....we went out for sushi...YUM!!! Two days later Mom took me to see Beauty and the Beast and out for another birthday dinner at one of our favorite seafood places.

It was a wonderful play....thanks Mom, what a wonderful and special evening. 

About a week later Denny and I headed to Captiva for a badly needed 2 nights of rest. We'd worked very hard for 7 weeks getting our house back together....we're almost there. We spent many hours on the beach on Captiva....my view was GREAT!!!

Everybody likes to play this silly game.....I ringed it once....Denny tried, but gave up.

  It was so nice to do NOTHING all day....one thing we like about Captiva is that once we park the car we either walk or bike while we're there....as we walked to dinner, at The Green Flash, we saw the moon peeking through these palm frawns....it was beautiful. We had a fantastic table with a view and a great dinner and walked back in the dark to our suite. This Saturday had been exactly what we needed....even our devotion of the day talked about resting....and we had.

After a great breakfast on Sunday morning we headed home....we made a few stops, one at The Shell Factory...but we still got home fairly early....it had been a great weekend...thanks for booking it honey.....it was an awesome birthday trip.
