Weekend Outings...are the best...Siesta Sand Competition

One cool thing we get to see living at the beach are sand carvings...some amateur competition, some professional ....just so happened this year they were on back to back weekends....pretty cool.

First weekend was the amateur competition..different ages competed, they did a great job

This was a professional sculpture, thanking our Veterans and introducing the competition.

Also campaigning to keep the beach clean.

Some more amateur...and the winner The Three Little Pigs

Always count on a Mermaid

Squidward...

The next weekend was a busy one...several things on our calendar...one was Symphony on the Sand
Very cool beach concert.
Was daylight when we started.....then came a gorgeous sunset and the lights for the concert

They played some great music and the singers were terrific...we will for sure do that again.

The next day, Denny headed to ATL for a football game and after church I met Kathy for lunch and the professional sand sculpting competition on Siesta Beach

My lunch was pretty and yummy

The sand sculptures were awesome. I was disappointed we had to pay to get in we didn't the last time...oh well, only $8, and it was
The Crystal Classic International Sand Sculpting Competition

So much detail.....next time I'd like to go and watch them sculpt

Yep, that skinny wall is sand...how do they do that?

Winter might come, but it won't get that cold....lol

Many sculptures had a front and a back

Font and back .....There are two sides to every story...very clever.

Never sure what these blobs were...

Have to look closely....lots of imagination..

Loved this old truck....

The details were amazing...

These appeared to be where some amateurs had some fun, but they were still very good.

A drip castle...wow my Mom loves to make these.

Really enjoyed watching this guy, was fascinating the tools he used and the detail he went to.
Many looked like dental tools.

Thought the Swiss Army Wife was funny

All of the following pictures are of a HUGE sculpture that all the sculptors helped with...

All the ones that competed....

This was amazing and huge...

What a fun day. The rain stayed away, but the clouds made it cooler.
After a stop at Sub Zero we headed home. I settled in for some Hallmark Christmas movies and waited on Denny to come back.
I head to ATL soon for work and Thanksgiving...the holidays are close!!
