By Tuesday Denny was getting a cold and the weather was still a bit iffy....so I worked in the morning and we went to Panera's for a soup lunch and then back. Denny slept and relaxed and went ot Target finish up some Christmas shopping. We had an easy dinner in the condo and watched When the Game Stands Tall...an excellent movie. Based on a true story with some VERY good lessons.
Wednesday was gorgeous...the rainy had passed...so we headed to downtown Disney. They are making many changes so the construction can be confusing, but we got parked and headed out. It was nice to just stroll and be outside. All along the walls that are up to hide the ugly construction they have up quotes from Walt Disney....I really like this one.
Loved this big pineapple....a universal sign of hospitality....this is a restaurant
All the lights we saw on the monorail ride were beautiful....then back to The Polynesian for dinner. We'd never been here and we were very curious. We've been told it's one of the most popular restaurants....now we know why. It is served family style, we were at a table for 2 and first we had warm coconut/pineapple bread...then came salad, wings and pork dumplings, and stir fry veggies in noodles...then came the meat. They had skewers of pork, beef and shrimp....as much as you wanted. Then an amazing bread pudding with ice cream for dessert.....a wonderful meal.
We were close enough to the grill to watch them cook all the meat. We were also lucky enough to sit on the side of the restaurant that faced The Magic Kingdom....at 930p we had a great view of the fireworks and they piped in Mickey narrating the show...it was wonderful.
This was a delightful evening....we went home very full. The next day was all day at Kennedy Space Center.....sleep fast...it had been a long and late day!!!
The decorations were so festive....

This is new...food trucks. This one is featuring some of the most popular foods from the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival....great idea.
We strolled, shopped....watched them make all kinds of caramel apples and listened to an elementary school chorus perform...a nice slow day.
We stayed into the evening and when the Rainforest Cafe' volcano went off you could se it really well.
We always wander through the Art of Disney store....Pooh is my fav.
We headed towards The Polynesian Hotel...we had dinner reservations at O'Hana. As we were leaving we came across this one-man-band sax player...he was GREAT. This little boy decided he'd have fun too
After checking in with the restaurant....we decided to ride the monorail around to the other hotels to see the decorations. The tree at The Grand Floridian Hotel is always beautiful.
And the huge Gingerbread House is too cool. I bought a gingerbread "shingle" and ate it...yum.
