Nassau.....a little shopping...Remy

We slept like babies, but excitement had me up very early....so i slipped out onto our huge balcony to see what was happening. Now, I'd like to show you pictures of whales or dolphins but that wasn't to be....but I did see the sunrise and I watched a ship that was also going into Nassau....I took a few pics and I got a few through the binoculars...

We passed by this cool lighthouse on the way to dock in Naasau, and someone was going out on there sail boat...it was a gorgeous day.....

This looked like a really neat place to go beaching...a neat jetty....and the water color was gorgeous

We could see downtown Nassau on one side and..........
Paradise Island on the other side..........
These military ships were in port as well....

We had a great breakfast and got off the ship to do a little shopping and exploring....we stopped fro some ship pics....see the 2 balconies on the left with portholes...our balcony is right above those...yep, it's as big as it looks..it wrappped around the sound of the ship....waaaay cool. And I loved the characters from Fantasia on the back of the ship.

After some shopping....that included a gorgeous pair of earrings for me...thanks Sweetie....we got a few other things and got back on the ship for lunch. The food had been wonderful....we had a wonderful fish lunch with Dan and Cheryl and we all decided to take naps. I could only snooze so long...then I needed to go exploring. We hadn't really taken the time to go see the ship. Our ship had  this amazing slide...it went down both sides of the ship...and the pools were fresh water and very nice.  There was a min-golf course and a basketball court on the uppr deck. True Disney style.

Much of the bow of the ship was reserved for 18 and older...it was great. Our own pool and hot tub ..several bars and lounging areas. This area was for teens only. There were several areas for young children as well. It was all done very well.

Wonder how Donald Duck got stuck up there... (Disney's detail is amazing)

There were 6 ships in port on this Saturday....here are some of them...3 cruise ships in this one pic, ,,,

It had been a wonderful relaxing day...but it was time to sail to Castaway Cay....

The other 5 ships were still in port....we sailed out on a beautiful evening...

Sunset was gorgeous....and it was time to head to the show Villian's Tonight and then to Remy ...the french restaurant for our very special Valentine's dinner...the show theme was not my favorite, but I do give credit to the performers and the costuming...all amazing.

To begin with..we had a personal reservation that was left in our cabin..

As we walk into the restaurant you pass the windows of wine...they even had one famous bottle from the movie Ratatouille....1961 Chateua Latour worth $5000...wow!!

And probably the most famous was...the $25,000 bottle of Château Cheval Blanc 1947

This is the same wine that food critic Anton Ego orders in the Disney•Pixar movie Ratatouille

And then as you walk into the restaurant...Remy himself greets you...

As well as a real bottle...honoring the movie

We were seated in the wine room it was gorgeous....and very private...

It even had the pasta maker from the movie....Disney does create authticity and fairytale very well....

Our evening started with  a complementary specialty cocktail, the Colette. The version of the Colette prepared for us table side by our waiter was made with mint, raspberry, dried apricot, a shot of Absolute Pear infused with fresh mint and finished with Taittinger champagne.

It was delish..........and we toasted to a great trip and a wonderful dinner...

The table was gorgeous....and the eating began...

Our first bite was a delicious fried bite of a pastry that had something like a tomato soup inside...next we needed to select if we wanted American or French dinner. I picked French and Denny picked American so we could share...that was fun.

Our first selection was...Foie Gras Siphon with a few macadamia nuts.  We were instructed to eat from the bottom up to experience all the levels of flavor at once. The macadamia nuts provided an added burst of flavor to the foam.

After this we had so many dishes I wish I'd counted them all...and they were all presented in 5 -star style...Greg and Brenda treated the table to some amazing caviar...and black truffles...an extra delicious addition...thanks so much.

The chef that created the menu just happened to be onboard and he came in to greet us...what a treat. He's not always onboard...he created the menu, but has chefs he trusts to make it...so this was really neat.

This violinist even came through....it was delightful.

Meanwhile on deck 11 there was a Pirate party going on. We didn't see any of that...but we did go out to a private deck to view the fireworks. Disney is the only line allowed to shoot fireworks as they have figured out how to make fish-food into fireworks, so when it hits the water....there's no problem. We counted 6 ships around us, they were a safe distance away, so they could see our fireworks...too funny.

Just when you think it is time for dessert, the Plateau de Fromages (a selection of cheese) arrives table side!

We had some wonderful cheeses....and then it was time for dessert...

Dessert was fantastic and we had some extra chocolates as well...

We were all so full, all we wanted to do was get back to the cabin and crash. Our parting gift was a rose and a box of chocolates...

What an amazing once in a lifetime dinner.....we had a lovely evening.

We got back to our cabin to find this "monkey" they are so creative.

We quickly jumped into our Disney robes and went out on the balcony...we were docking at Casraway Cay and it was really fun to watch all the action. After that bit of fun, it was very late and time to crash...it had been a Valentine's Day we'd not soon forget....

Good night from somewhere in the ocean....at Castaway Cay....
