Having a close family is great....so, niece Britt needed a little help with child care and I had some vacation time I needed to use...so we headed north to Savannah to help.
It's about a 6hr drive, it's not bad...just a bit long when you are just hammering down to get it done. Didn't stop much...just drove. At one place where we stopped for gas they said they had live baby alligators....you know i had to check it out...not what I expected...but they were cute
We arrived at the boys bedtime but we were so glad Mom and Dad let them stay up to play a little. Witt. Jase and Quinton and such sweet boys and FULL of energy.
So the kids got in bed and us big kids had a chance to chat a little...the mornings start VERY early so off to bed for all of us. The next morning Des and I took Q to school so I'd know where to go to pick him up. That was easy. When we got back Denny and I were all alone so we decided to go to breakfast and do a little shopping to help with dinner. Then it was time to pick up Q. We were able to ride bikes with him once we got him home and then it was nap time, right after he played cars with Uncle Denny..
Then off for an afternoon appt, then home for dinner. By this time little brothers Jase and Witt and Mommy were home. We got in a little play time, then time for dinner...Jase and Witt really enjoyed their corn...these little guys are great eaters....
Time for bed but the next day was Friday...woohoo. Friday went well and we all went to downtown Savannah for dinner. Went to a great seafood place, the boys loved it and really enjoyed the walk along the water front. But alas...we were all tired, time for bed.
Saturday morning was slower...Uncle Denny had time to show Witt how to trace his hand...
but errands needed to be run...so we had to take 2 cars but off we went. At a point it was nap time, so we took the kids home and let Britt and Des finish their errands and have a little time. Then it was big kid night out...so the 4 of us headed to a new place on the river front...Trailor Park..it was a small place but really good food. Then we HAD to stop at Lulu's Chocolate Shop....oh my, DELISH...thanks for the night out guys we had a blast. We didn't get home too late so we stayed up and chatted a while then off to bed.
Sunday also moved a bit slow but we were heading to Disney so we needed to get moving...Des had to go to work so Britt and the kids and us went to an animal park, after a stop at Waffle House for breakfast. The park was really cool and the weatehr was perfect for a walk outside.
First, you got through this building where they keep the reptiles and other yucky stuff.
These turtles were chowing down...
This white snake was ...yucky.
Now to head outside to the cool stuff...these gators were just chilling
This wolf just paced around...he was pretty
This huge turtle was just walking around...not in a cage at all
We crossed over some swampy area and stopped for a pic...
We'd had a great time, but it was time to head south....thanks guys for letting us visit, we'll be back.
We rolled into Orlando in time for dinner....after that we took showers and crashed....the next day we decided not go go into a park but just go wander around Downtown Disney. They are changing it so much there is something new everytime...
These tourist made out of leggos are actually old...but still neat
The dragon and sorcerer are new...and very cool
After a nice walk and some shopping we headed home...we'll come back later and go into the parks.
