City Trolley Tour and Two Lights....

After such a big dinner we weren't too hungry so we headed for the trolley tour...we could walk to where it was so we headed out. It was about 90min and the guy did a great job, there were only 4 of us on the trolley...delighful. We rode past the harbor...plenty of pleasure and lobster boats here.

This is one of the oldest and nicest hotels in Kennebunkport and it's on the water...

This hotel goes back many years and is on the Historical Hotels of America Registry...

Beautiful shoreline....

The Bush Compound....

The Gurad Shack leading into the The Bush Compound....

Old refurbed home...see the "teacup" like trim above the windows.???

The Franciscan Monastery grounds. They offer rooms for very cheap rates. They are simple, with a shared bath...but would make for a cheaper vacation.

Then we went past the beach.....

We thought this stick on the fire hydrant was funny....they use it to measure snow.....AAAHHHH!!!

After the trolley we stopped at a very popular roadside shack for lobster rolls and clams...it was very good. Then we did a little walking and shopping. We did a little more driving and found this place that had a little bit of everything...wow, just wow!!

You should have seen the inside, so sorry I didn't take any picture, but they might not have let me.

As evening approached we headed out to find Two Lights...we had been told this was the only place you could see 2 Lighthouses in the same view. ..pretty cool.
It was a bit of a drive but was really cool....only we found out that one was built by a guy that wanted a lighthouse in his yard and was not a real working lighthouse like the other one was...
I could not take a picture with them both in it, but i could take a picture of this postcard that had an aerial view and had them both in it...I'm sure you can figure the one most inland was not real.

The real one...........

 The one that is decoration.......

The foghorn building....

The area where you go to view them is like a park, but small. We thankfully got there early and got a parking spot...by the time we left we could have sold our spot.
This short order reataurant did a booming business, we heard they had good lobster rolls and clams, but we weren't really hungry so we just sat and enjoyed the view.

The rocks and view were beautiful....we live on the west/gulf coast of FL so we get sunsets...these folks get sunrises....so, the sun was settting, but not into the water and it was getting cool so he headed out...

A well painted replica of the real lighthouse....

I got us lost going back so it took a little longer, but we made it. Then we had a burger and a salad for dinner and went to the room to pack up. We walked past a shop that had some really funny plaques in it...laughing is good for the soul...

The next morning would be early as we had to drive back to Boston to return the car and fly to ATL....our next event....highschool footbal....we wanted to see our niece and nephew in the marching band.

It had been a great trip....we'll be back!!!
